HERO ADOPTION POLICIES

PLEASE READ THOROUGHLY BEFORE APPLYING

In order to adopt one of HERO Rescue’s adoptable dogs, all potential adopters must agree to:

  • Provide an adopted dog with access to the essentials of food, water and shelter as well as provide ample and adequate time outside for exercise to support dog’s health and wellness.
  • Agrees to not crate during the daytime hours for longer than eight (8) hours. Crating at night is standard & acceptable.
  • Promise to give an adopted dog regular scheduled veterinary care including, but not limited to Dhlpp shot, Rabies vaccination, & annual heartworm testing and heartworm preventative as well as flea & tick preventatives.
  • Adopters will keep their rescue dog for as long as it shall live & will NOT transfer ownership outside of contract terms.
  • Adopters take the rescue dog as is, with all defects, either observable or otherwise, and assumes full risk for the dog from the date of adoption through dog’s natural life cycle.
  • Agrees to a two-week trial adoption period & will notify HERO Rescue of the completion of adoption or return of dog.
  • Adopter agrees to all terms of the adoption agreement when signed.

All dogs adopted from HERO Rescue will be fully vetted and microchipped prior to adoption. HERO Rescue will remain on microchip for lifetime of the adopted dog unless other agreement is made.

ADOPTION FEE IS $250 FOR ALL ADOPTABLE PUPS OVER THE AGE OF 6 MONTHS

All puppies under the age of 6 months are available for our foster-to-adopt program which includes an additional foster-to-adopt HERO Puppy Contract and refundable deposit to ensure our puppies get to all scheduled future vet appointments including last rounds of puppy shots and spay/neuter.

HERO Rescue agrees to accept back into rescue, regardless of time pass and circumstances, any dog that was adopted out under the Hero Rescue Adoption Contract.
